Happy Halloween

This year our camera decided to stop working on Halloween.  Thanks to my mom, we got a few shots.  Unfortunately the kids were too excited to stand still for photos.

Here are some boys showing some brotherly love.

Here is Mommy and her little ballerina.

Ryan and I love dressing up as well.  My neighbor just happened to have a knight costume for Ryan, and this dress, from my Aunt Linda, is one that she wore about 50 years ago.  I got many compliments on it.

We finally got the Karate kid to strike a pose!!  We weren't as lucky with Andrew... you will just have to trust me that he was a ninja-- hey, maybe that is why we couldn't get a picture of him.  He is a good ninja!!

Mom and Dad were in charge of the candy while we took the kids out.  Malia has not yet mastered "Trick or Treat", but she has the sweetest "thank you" ever!!

Pawpaw is a sucker for his little grandbaby!!

It was a fun evening with the family.  We started the night with our youth group at Chick-fil-a, walked around the block and got way too much candy for three little kids, and we ended the night watching Monsters Inc while they devoured candy.

Happy Halloween!!!

My kids have good taste in music...

Without question my kids would tell you that their favorite musical artist was Toby Mac.... but Imagine Dragons is currently taking a close second.

My kids are constantly singing one song in particular and I thought the lyrics fit nicely with our recent trip to the park (not to mention Andrew was singing this song while he was climbing)

I'm on top of the world,' ay
I'm on top of the world, ay

Waiting on this for a while now
paying my dues to the dirt

I've been waiting to smile, ay

been holding it in for a while, ay

Take it with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child

I'm on top of the world

To hear the whole song go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8PrTzLaLHc

You will be hooked too!

Exploring

First off-- thanks to everyone who contributed to Malia's winter wardrobe.  Isn't she adorable!!

This week, the weather has changed and we have been outside enjoying it.

My mom and dad took us to a place called Spring Creek Greenway.  It is right after Old Town Spring and I have driven passed it  hundreds of times and never knew it existed.

It has a really cool nature center with snakes and butterflies and animal pelts for the kids to touch.  It also has countless trails to explore.  We walked about a mile and half before Andrew's little legs gave out on him.

We will be heading back soon if anyone wants to join us!

Pinteresting again

Fall has brought many crafting opportunities into our house.

The kids loved painting pumpkins

These are the crafts that I made for Kai's class at school for a Halloween treat.  Since we can't give out candy we made coupons for the classroom.

These milk carton crafts turned out super cute.  I cant wait to put lights in them and see them shine on Halloween night.

Happy crafting!!!

Homeschooling

Ever since I have started staying home with the kids, Andrew loves to tell everyone he meets that he is home schooled.
We do  try to do a little learning every day.

Some of my students are more focused than others....

Malia is more into imaginative learning.

Andrew gives in to her and lets her have her way more than he would like to admit.   Here is he on a picnic.  He tried to manly it up by calling it "camping."

Kai gets in on the edible lessons.  Here he is eating a delicious dessert we made together.

Thank you Pinterest.

Ryan even gets involved with "home schooling-- if science or religion is the focus.  Here they are safely watching a massive ant bed that the kids discovered.  Ryan had just poured poison over the bed so they are watching the ants scatter.

I have always been interested in homeschooling my kids-- but never thought I had the patience to do it.  We will see how the rest of the year goes....Right now Andrew has been sent to his room and Malia is currently drawing all over herself with markers-- I could consider that arts and crafts time, right?
