Kai's Cupcakes

Kai loves to cook.  He is a professional pizza roll, cupcake, and pancake chef.  Tonight we made cupcakes together and I thought I would share it with you.

While we were cooking in the kitchen, Andrew worked on his smiles in the living room.

In adult related news, Ryan got accepted into a masters program to work on his administrative licence.  We are not 100 % sure if he is going to do it yet; we have to look at finances and time and all that business, but it is still an honor and if it all works out he will start it.  As for me, I just got promoted to Department Chair at my school.  Our current department chair got promoted to counselor and they asked me to fill his position.  I am still pretty sure I am going to quit this job at the end of the year, but this is still a great opportunity and who know, maybe I will love it and decide to stay.

Lent

Ryan and I went grocery shopping tonight and we had to decide what we were going to give up for lent.  We are not Catholic, but we like the concept of giving something up in the name of the Lord-- so we participate every year.  I usually give up chocolate and Ryan gives up sodas.  One year, we gave up all fried food---- which was particularly challenging since we worked at Bennigans where everything is fried.  This year we have decided to challenge ourselves again.  Ryan is giving up sodas and chips and I am giving up all mexican food- a major weakness for me.  And because we want the other one to be successful, we usually end up giving up their choice as well-- so there will not be any sodas, chips, or mexican food in our house for the next forty days starting Wednesday.   Wish us luck!!

3 months old

So I started taking pictures of Andrew every month to show his growth and development over his first year.  I will be posting them in three month increments so that we can really see his changes.   He is already three months old... can you believe that!!!

He recently started rolling over.  This picture was taken right after his triumphant feat.

Thank God for Nebulizers

Andrew is sick!!!  He has bronchitis, which makes him have coughing fits, which make him gag until he almost throws up.  Poor baby.  The worst part for me, besides seeing my baby sad, is that he is not nursing... he is only drinking from a bottle.  SO I have been doing a lot of pumping, which if you have every pumped before, you know it is not very fun.

Here he is doing his breathing treatments.

He is so sweet, even when he is sick.  Try to ignore my super greasy hair-- I have a sick baby, there is no time to shower!!

In Kai related news, this weekend he asked to get his Geo track out.  It is a remote control train that he loves.  You can build the track any way you want and it has all kinds of cool accessories. Quickly after getting the track together, we remembered why we put it up.

It takes up the entire playroom floor.  After two nights off getting up in the middle of the night and stepping on tracks and trains, it went back into it's crate in the garage.   Sorry Kai.
