Still crafting

I have kept up my resolutions for a full week.  I am doing pretty good.  Here is another craft I worked on this week.

I made these felt flowers for Mallia's bulletin board.

Then I turned some into clips for her hair.

She liked them... for about 5 minutes.

Crafting

As part of my new year's resolution, I plan to craft more.  My mom bought me some canvases and paint for Christmas so yesterday the kids and I got got them out and put them to use.

First we stuck letters on each canvas to write out their names.

Then I let them loose with paint (they were supervised by our cat-- Hobbs)

Next we peeled off the letters.... and added some pictures.

I think they turned out pretty cute!!!

70!!!

My Dad's birthday is on New Year's Day.  This year he turned 70!!  We celebrated with our entire family by going out to dinner, eating cake and popping off some fireworks.  It was great birthday celebration honoring a very wonderful dad.

The birthday boy-- with his lovely wife.

Singing Happy Birthday

Blowing out the candles

The Doyle Clan

We didn't have a hat for Malia-- so a turbie twist had to do the trick.  She oddly thought it was the greatest thing ever.

Coleman-- being Coleman

Emma dancing with her sparklers

It was really cold outside--- but it was worth it to watch the firework show

The boys got a little bored after a while and started playing on bikes

Ryan lit everything with a blow torch-- whether it needed it or not.

After a while the "adults" all went inside and let the "kids" set everything left over on fire.

Happy Birthday Dad!!!
