Come Together

This past weekend was filled with family and fun. Friday night we had a movie night. None of us had see The Chronicles of Narnia, so we all piled up and watching it together. Saturday we spent the day outside playing in the sandbox, blowing bubbles and drawing with sidewalk chalk. Then Saturday night Ryan and I were allowed some adult time. Kai spent the night with my parents, and we headed out to celebrate a friend's birthday. We went to The Melting Pot, another new experience for us. Ryan and I loved it. The food was delicious and and we got to try so many new things. The only bad part was that I was not able to eat the chocolate, because I gave it up for Lent. Ryan promised me he would take me back after Easter, just for dessert. Sunday we went to church and that evening we went over to my parent's house. My whole family was there and my parents bar-b-cued steaks, chicken and sausage. More delicious food!! Then Emma, Coleman, Kai and I got in the hot tub (lucky me). It was anything but relaxing, but Kai had fun and even went under a few times.

Only the Strong Survive

Well, Ryan survived his first week. He came home exhausted and in a foul mood everyday. Welcome to teaching!!!! I think he is really going to like it. He talks about his classes non-stop and he has taken almost all the advic e I have given him. My favorite, of course, being his toliet seat bathroom pass, which I personally painted for him.

Our Valentines Day was really fun. We had another couple over and we cooked a nice dinner which we ate by candle light. Of course Kai and their 1 year old were there too, stuffing their faces with red velvet cupcakes. Kai got a bunch of Valentines at his school party and we gave him Thomas trains. Ryan and I got matching school lunch kits (how gay are we).

We are now looking forward to a restful weekend. The weather is going to be awful, and we are both tired, so we plan on watching a lot of movies and doing a lot of laying around.

Banana Pancakes

Ryan officially starts his job Monday. He went in today and was bombarded with information and gossip. He is pretty nervous about starting, but he knows the key to this year is survival!!!

In other news, we went up the Church on Shrove Tuesday and gorged ourselves on Pancakes, bacon and sausage links. It was delicous. Kai ran around the CLC for an hour and half straight, instantanously burning off every calorie he just took in. We started Lent on Wednesday. We gave up our usual chocolate and soda.

Today was highlighted by Kai turning finger paint into body paint and covering his entire face, neck and arms in paint at school. I don't know where his teachers were at this time. I guess it is a Montessorri, they probably thought Kai was expressing himself.

Great Weekend... Except for the Giants ruining history...

Well, we all had a real good weekend.

Friday the crew volunteered up at the church for about 2 hours spending some time with 2 homeless families. Very humbling.
Later, I went and watched Brad, Joe, & Michael jam (Hendrix, SR Vaughn, ZZ, Zeppelin, etc) at Mulligan's & More. It rocked.

Saturday we met the Crooks for some of the best hamburgers I ever had. I had the 5 alarm burger which had japs, salsa, chipotle mayo, etc. It rocked.
That night Lindsay and I went & watched Bye Bye Birdie at Klein High. It rocked as well.

Sunday. I played guitar in the service and also had 6 lines in a drama sketch. That rocked too.
Then we when to Jon and Kelly's and eat WAY TOO MUCH, but delicious, food. Lindsay made jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon. She made 40 and they were gone before they cooled down. Rocked.

SuperBowl. Great game. Good Defense. Stupid Giants. I have to listen to 72 Dolphins yet again. That doesn't rock.

Rock,
R

Busy Weekend Coming Up!

Me and Kai are hanging out today because he wasn't feeling so hot yesterday (actually he was feeling hot and that was the problem).

Tonight we are going up to church to volunteer some time hanging out with some families that are going through some hard times (NAM). After that Lindsay and I are going to try and to see Brad, Joe, and Michael jam out. They are 3 members of our worship band at church, but they rock out to ZZ, Hendrix, Allman Brothers, Zeppelin, etc in their other band. We need someone to watch Kai for a little while.

Tomorrow (Saturday) we are going to try and see Keith and Rebecca and later tomorrow night, Lindsay and I are going to see a play.

Sunday Morning we've got church (I'm playing guitar this week and performing in a drama sketch)

Sunday afternoon and evening will be beer, football, great food, and Tom Brady throwing 7 TDs time.
